The climate is changing. Coastal risks are accelerating. And now, Europe has a powerful new tool to help plan, adapt, and act.
Today marks the official launch of the CoCliCo platform — a free, open-access web service designed to support coastal decision-making across Europe.
Built for policymakers, planners, infrastructure managers, and researchers, CoCliCo provides high-resolution sea level rise projections, flood hazard assessments, exposure analysis, and cost-benefit comparisons of adaptation strategies. All of this is wrapped in an intuitive map-based interface and backed by open, authoritative datasets.
What can you do with CoCliCo?
- Explore future coastal hazard scenarios
- Assess risk exposure for populations and infrastructure
- Compare adaptation options through cost-benefit analysis
- Use ready-made “User Stories” to visualize impacts and solutions
- Use our models for your own calculations through our Workbench and download data via our STAC catalog

Whether you’re working on national flood directives, designing resilient urban plans, or advising on climate policy, CoCliCo is built for you.
And be sure to make the most of our Platform, Workbench and STAC Catalog by using our User Handbook:

Why now?
A new policy brief published by the CoCliCo team underscores the urgency: by 2050, up to 1.75 million Europeans are projected to be exposed to coastal hazards. The brief calls for transformational adaptation, investment in European-scale climate services, and governance reform to meet this moment.
“The science is clear. The risks are increasing. The only question is whether decision-makers will act in time.”
