Workpackage 4
Flooding and erosion projections
The aim of WP4 is (1) to design a flexible framework to analyse coastal erosion and flood hazards in an integrated way; and (2) to apply this framework using the best available datasets (from WP3, WP5 and WP6) to produce a library of flood maps under different mean and extreme sea level hindcast and projections, and under different adaptation scenarios at the scale of Europe, as prescribed by the Integrated Scenarios.
Objectives
1 To design a flexible framework to analyse the spread of floodwater and to estimate coastal flood hazards
2 To estimate future shoreline changes due to erosion around Europe’s coast, providing both land loss due to erosion and input to the flood analysis
3 To produce a standard library of flood maps around Europe’s coast aligned with our Integrated Scenarios
4 To develop a coastal hazard data and algorithm supporting the Full-Track web-platform Future Services and Exploratory Tools
